A MOTHER’S WISH

There was a time a couple of years back when toys used to be toys and video games used to be video games. These days, however, it can be hard to tell the two apart. With technology taking up more and more of our life, children are always engrossed in various sizes of screens that are in turn causing many negative health effects like lack of attention span, low self-esteem, poor quality sleep, limited social life, anxiety and so much more? As a mother of two, it’s hard to even imagine something like this happening to a child.

Khelna was born in 2017, when I became a mother to a beautiful baby boy and I pledged to myself to provide him with the best. Like every parent, my husband and I wanted to see our kid happy all the time and that’s how we realized that he loved toys! It’s not a secret that toys are essential to the holistic development of a child.

Did you know? Toys play a significant role in developing various skills in infants and toddlers from birth through various stages of growth. Curious to know what toys and activities are appropriate for their age?

  • 0 to 3 Months

    Infants are still developing their senses & motor skills. They are planning to learn how to grasp objects & may enjoy looking at bright colours and patterns

  • 3 to 6 Months

    At this stage, infants are beginning to develop more control over their movements and may start to sit up with support. They are also becoming more social & may begin to smile and interact with others

  • 6 to 9 Months

    During this stage the infants are becoming more mobile & may start crawling or scooting. They are also developing object permanence , which means they understand the objects still exist even when they can't see them!

  • 9 to 12 Months

    At this stage infants are becoming more independent and may begin to walk or stand with support. They are also developing more complex problems-solving skills.

  • 12 to 18 Months

    During this stage, toddlers are becoming more confident in their movements and may begin to walk independently. They are also developing their language skills.
